Marshall Blankenship Travel Award

In conjunction with the Tropical Dermatology Seminar organized by the University of Chicago Section of Dermatology and supported by the Chicago Dermatological Society, ISD is pleased to announce the Marshall Blankenship Travel Award to a resident, fellow or young practicing dermatologist or dermatologist in-training who is 35 years old or younger to attend the meeting from April 15-16, 2011 in Chicago (USA).

Dr. Marshall Blankenship, now retired in his hometown of Chicago, served as an ISD Vice President, Board Member and in numerous voluntary positions including implementing the ISD web site. During his career he was a strong advocate of international dermatologic education and served as Secretary-Treasurer of the Foundation for International Dermatologic Education. This award is offered in the spirit of fostering the next generation of leaders in global dermatology.

This travel grant award is to help defray costs of travel and registration to the meeting. The award will be given in the amount of $1,000.00. In addition, the registration fee will be waived. Applicants must be traveling from outside the US and Canada.

The travel grant will be given to one successful applicant upon their arrival at the meeting by Dr. James Ertle, member, ISD Board of Directors.

Applicants who have not previously been awarded an ISD scholarship are favored.

Applications must be submitted online by February 15, 2011.
